Some Encouragement.

Some quotes that I pray encourage your day! Maybe you're feeling down, and you need to remember how real God is in your life!

Remember... God is there for you, he loves you, and he is always walking beside you... guiding your every step.  We are precious in the eyes of our Maker, and He wants to see us conquer and rejoice through Him!

Chinese.

My family loves the classic Chinese food like sesame chicken and sesame noodles, the kind you'd get from a Chinese take-out restaurant. But because we don't do "take out" I decided to try my cooking skills and create it a home. Through each time I make it, there are things I critique to make it better and better. But even now, it is so very close to the real thing( its a little scary :)
Here are the links for the recipes that I use Sesame NoodlesSesame Chicken Sauce. And for the actual "chicken" I simply cut it up into good sized pieces, marinate it in a little soy sauce, and then coat in flour with a tsp of pepper, a T. of garlic, and a tsp of paprika.2 Next deep fry all your pieces in hot oil.3 For the sauces it is a good idea to get your pan really hot, and sear it, and let it boil for a little bit.
4. The broccoli I simply blanched and coated it in the sauce with the chicken.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer!!!!

A Cat in the Guitar Case.

So while Hair Stylist was practicing guitar one afternoon, her cat Frank wandered over to the open guitar case and climbed in. This is unusual for our cat( he is quite grumpy and very uncertain to most things)

Looks like he was enjoying a nice nap till the picture lady( me) came along :)

Modesty

Here are some beautiful dresses that I thought you'd all enjoy! I simply LOVE dresses, and certainly think that they are so feminine and if cut right, modest.

Which one is your favorite? Let's remember to always take a look at what we're wearing and to ask" Do I look like a child of God? Would He be pleased at what I am wearing? Even without a dress... skirts, shirts, and coats can be classy and beautiful, but also they can be modest.

Saving Mr. Banks

We took the opportunity to see the new movie Saving Mr. Banks at our local state theater. Now for me, Mary Poppins has always been a favorite and classic. I mean, she can fly, clean up a room with the snap of her fingers, and is simply awesome.
They had a projected silhouette of Mary Poppins on the curtains. Sooooo neat!!!!
 We enjoyed popcorn and Coke.

It was a very good movie and I loved the era it took place! The early 1960's with the clothes, cars, and everything. Though I have to admit that I thought it would be based around Mary Poppins as a character, but it was more about P.L. Travers( the author's) recollection of her father. And in that she imagined Mr. Banks to be the same. Thus the name Saving Mr. Banks. But Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson, two awesome actors who did an amazing job bringing their characters to life.

Snow Ball Cookies

Another fun holiday recipe that goes well with the season. Snow Ball cookies.... they don't have chocolate in them but if you're in the mood for a yummy light cookie that doesn't involve chocolate, these are the ones. So to start, put in 1 stick of butter at room temp.

Next 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
Cream this all together for a couple seconds, or just until incorporated.
Next 1 cup of nuts( I used a mix of pecans and walnuts, a good combination the sweet, soft pecans and the crunchy, lightly bitter walnuts.
Oh also 1 tsp of vanilla.
Next 1 cup of flour, nothing special just regular flour.
Next mix it all together till it forms a dough. Then preheat your oven to  375' and roll into balls. Bake for 15-20 minutes. When they are done cooling roll in powered sugar for the "snow ball" effect.
And fresh from the snow, some delicious, crumbly, crunchy, Snow Ball cookies to bring some of that white snow outdoors into your home. Enjoy!
